Yamamai Sydney Correspondent
Most of you know that the Yeshiva in Ottawa and the Yeshiva in Sydney are linked together in various forms. The Yeshiva in Ottawa takes Shluchim from Sydney (Yossel Raichik, Sholom Laine, Yisroel Bernath, Gershon Selinger, Yaakov Plotkin, Zvi Hershcovich, Berel Zaklikovsky) and sends Shluchim to Sydney (Yossi Goodman, Moshe Maness, Zeev Eagle). Besides, Rabbi Berger’s son married Rabbi Feldman’s daughter [Rabbi Feldman is the Shliach in Sydney]. So it is pretty obvious that there is some sort of intimate connection between Ottawa & Sydney. Some of you may also know that the street where the Sydney Yeshiva is located is “Flood Street”.
Last Night, Yeshiva of Ottawa has merited to witness one more act which strengthened the bond between Yeshiva & Yeshiva. Last Night, not long after Lights-Out, a main pipeline of water broke on Kirkwood Ave. making the street look like the world moments after the Mabul (Flood) started. Luckily enough, we have a Teivah to run into, the Teivah is Yeshiva. Most Bochurim preferred to stay inside, but one whack decided to venture out and take exclusive pictures for Yamamai.Net. He was Yankele Lefton.
Just for Murphy’s sake, the weather started drastically going down, causing a serious problem, the water will freeze and render the road non-drivable, causing endless amounts of accidents. So a snow truck loaded with salt came by and dropped the whole load on the water. Not long thereafter, another truck emptied all the salt content on the road, rendering it penetrable.
Yankele was extremely excited and snapped a video. Enjoy!
This morning, the correction department of Ottawa, the department that will correct [i.e. fix] the pipes came in and started fixing the pipes. For this purpose, they shut the water in the whole block, leaving Lorrena stranded and furious. It’s a day before “Tchabat” and there is no way of cooking food...
